Mininova Welcomes 1000th participant of its Popular Service

Since the launching of Content Distribution in 2007, a free service which allows artists and producers to distribute their works, this file-sharing solution has been widely accepted by people.

BitTorrent giant Mininova reported in its blog on Tuesday that Content Distribution Service has gained its 1000th user of this file-sharing solution.

This service, which based its concept on the BitTorrent technology, has increasingly been used by people, especially artists, as a very efficient way of distributing files to a wider audience.

One major media firm has used this solution to provide the public with free television series.  The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation use the Mininova’s program to reach more people and offer them with free entertainment shows.

Meanwhile, a popular Dutch band called “Silence is Sexy” has also used Content Distribution, allowing them to provide their fans with free music from their entire album.

Mininova co-founder Erik Dubbelboer said in the company blog that the service “is the perfect solution for bands of indie music to make themselves known to a wider audience as this requires no service payment.

Dubbelboer also said that since the launching of the service almost two years ago, an average of three users are registering everyday.

With Content Distribution, Dubbelboer said that people have already uploaded nearly 6,000 files while there are more than 15 million downloads since 2007.  This means that file-sharers download almost 40,000 contents every day.

Meanwhile, the BitTorrent giant said it is expecting more growth to this file-sharing solution as more people will use the Content Distribution to upload and download different kinds of media files.
