The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the 20th Century Fox are investigating the leaked movie “Wolverine” that has been found in some bittorrent websites and said that people who are responsible for the illegal distribution will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Fox said it is also conducting its own investigation that may shed light and reveal who is the real source of the leaked movie which has been shown in raw version and without any special effects.
Few days ago, “Wolverine” which is the latest series of the popular movie X-Men, was released by some bittorrent websites. Meanwhile, the copy is still in raw version and has low quality that viewers may not find it substantially appealing.
Fox said it immediately contacted legal authorities to remove the illegal copy and warned that it marked every content that will allow its experts to identify the sources or people who posted or downloaded it.
Meanwhile, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is also helping authorities to identify the sources of the illegal copies of “Wolverine”.
The film company also urged the public to fight against online piracy that affects the overall movie industry including actors, directors, producers, and even movie watchers.
To prove the company’s determination to fight online piracy, Fox has recently terminated its famous blogger Roger Friedman who has allegedly downloaded a copy of the leaked “Wolverine” and made a film review about this.
In a statement released by the company, it said that in line with its fight against piracy, such action should not be tolerated.
Friedman was immediately terminated by the company and his movie review about “Wolverine” was removed.
